Cooking at Corner28: breakfast and groceries for your Madrid stay
To make the most of Corner28’s kitchen, start with the breakfasts you will have at the apartment and one simple meal. Then choose where to shop around your plans for the day. You can mix restaurants with meals at home without spending your break shopping or leaving with ingredients you barely used.
Corner28 is at Sancho Dávila, 28, in Fuente del Berro, within Salamanca district. This guide helps you plan your first grocery shop and see the spaces where you will cook and eat.

What the kitchen has, and what to ask about
The apartment details confirm an equipped kitchen and dishwasher. The gallery shows a coffee machine, toaster and kettle, along with the dining area beside the kitchen. These are private spaces within the apartment, which accommodates up to four guests.
Before adding specialist items to your list, check which coffee format the machine takes and ask about any utensil essential to your recipe. Also ask which supplies will be available for your stay, such as coffee, oil, salt or dishwasher products. Food or packaging shown in a photograph does not confirm quantities provided or replenishment.
A specific question is more useful than asking for a “fully equipped kitchen”: for example, “We would like to make this meal; is the utensil it requires available?” You can choose your recipe once you have the answer.
Two grocery shops to put on your map
The official DIA store locator for Madrid, checked on 3 November 2026, lists these two addresses:
- DIA, Marqués de Zafra, 37, 28028 Madrid. Open the route from Corner28 to see whether it fits your outward or return journey.
- DIA, Jorge Juan, 143, 28028 Madrid. Look at this second route option and compare the detour from wherever you will be.
These are two verified locations, not a price ranking or a guarantee that either will be open when you arrive. Confirm opening hours for your day, particularly Sundays and public holidays. If you need a particular product, check availability with the shop before planning your trip around it.
If you already intend to explore Salamanca’s shopping streets, Mercado de la Paz at Ayala, 28 is another option for buying from individual stalls. Our market guide covers that visit in detail. If you only need breakfast supplies, decide whether the journey fits your plans.

A small shopping list for two breakfasts
Count people and meals before choosing pack sizes. Two guests eating breakfast on two mornings means four breakfasts; four guests means eight. Use that calculation to match quantities to your habits, rather than assuming everyone wants the same food.
For two people and two mornings, one possible shopping list is:
- Enough bread or toast for four breakfasts.
- Four pieces of fruit, if each person wants one each morning.
- Four yoghurts, if you will eat them, or an alternative you prefer.
- Milk or a plant-based drink in a size you expect to finish.
- Coffee in the confirmed format, or tea, according to your preferences.
- One topping for the bread that you can also use in another meal.
This is an example for planning quantities, not a breakfast package included with your booking. Cross out anything you will not use and add only what you need for agreed meals. If you plan to have breakfast out one morning, subtract it before shopping.
Keep one easy dinner for a low-energy evening
After a museum, a concert or a day of walking, you may feel like eating at the apartment. Choose a meal with few ingredients: for example, a salad with ready-cooked pulses, bread and fruit. Adapt the suggestion to your tastes and the equipment you have confirmed.
For anything more elaborate, check the utensils first and decide how much time you want to spend cooking. Ingredients for three dinners are unlikely to be useful if you already have two restaurant bookings. Leave shopping that needs refrigeration until the end of your outing and plan to return afterwards.

Your first evening and final breakfast
If you arrive at night, check shop opening hours before travelling and have another dinner option ready. Corner28’s published check-in time is from 16:00, Madrid time; earlier access needs confirmation. Plan your grocery shop once you know when you can settle in.
On your final day, look at what is left before buying more. Confirm checkout time and your onward journey: an unhurried breakfast is easier when the travel arrangements are settled. For meals out, see our Salamanca restaurant guide.
If you want your own kitchen and dining space as a base for these plans, explore the photographs and check availability at Corner28.
