Madrid for two couples: planning a weekend together

A Madrid break with another couple is easier when you agree on a few things before you travel: who takes each bedroom, which activities you want to share and how much time to leave open. For accommodation, the actual layout matters. Corner28 is a whole apartment for up to four guests, with two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and shared living spaces.

This guide helps you plan a stay in Fuente del Berro, within Madrid’s Salamanca district. The weekend below is a flexible suggestion: adapt it to your arrival time, the weather and any activities you decide to book.

Before booking: check the bedrooms as well as the capacity

Accommodation for four can mean very different sleeping arrangements. For two couples, check where each pair will sleep and how the bathrooms are accessed. Corner28 has two bedrooms, each with a double bed, and two bathrooms. One bathroom is en suite, so agree on the room allocation with that difference in mind; both bedrooms are not advertised as having a private bathroom.

The apartment page brings together the layout, amenities and photo gallery. If you need separate beds, exact mattress dimensions or details of any steps, ask before booking. The guest capacity alone does not answer those questions.

It is also worth comparing the total price for the same dates and guest count. Sharing an apartment is not automatically cheaper than booking two hotel rooms: check the final amount and the conditions for each option.

A ten-minute conversation that makes the trip easier

Before buying tickets, let each couple choose one activity they particularly want to do. Book the time-sensitive plans first and leave space around them. A museum in the morning and an agreed dinner can be enough structure for Saturday; filling every gap makes it harder to rest or change your plans.

Keep these four decisions in one shared message:

  • Arrival: each couple’s expected arrival time and one contact person to coordinate access.
  • Bedrooms: an agreed allocation based on the photographs and layout.
  • Shared costs: how you will split accommodation, groceries and any shared transport.
  • Free time: a period when each couple can do something independently.

Corner28’s published check-in time is from 16:00, Madrid time, with keypad self check-in. Early access requires an advance request and confirmation. If your flight lands in the morning, plan for the interval without assuming you can enter the apartment early.

Friday: settle in and explore the immediate area

The apartment is at Calle de Sancho Dávila, 28, local 2 – L30. Locate that address on a map before choosing your transport: staying in Salamanca district does not mean staying on the same street as the shops on Serrano.

After settling in, you could take a walk through Quinta de la Fuente del Berro and have dinner without adding several journeys to the evening. The park has gardens, ponds and changes in level. Check opening times and any current notices on the official Madrid tourism page.

If you arrive late, save the walk for another morning. Your first evening does not need a compulsory sightseeing stop.

Saturday: one shared activity and room to improvise

One approach is to have breakfast together, head to your booked activity and keep the afternoon flexible. If one couple wants to shop while the other prefers a walk, agree on a meeting place and dinner time. That gives everyone some independence without losing the shared part of the trip.

For a day in Salamanca, our walk from Fuente del Berro to Serrano lets you choose individual sections; you do not need to complete the whole route. The district’s official shopping guide identifies the shopping areas, while our restaurant and market guide is a starting point for choosing lunch. Check menus and availability directly with each business.

The kitchen, dishwasher and dining table let you mix meals out with time at the apartment. Keep the grocery shop proportionate to your stay: breakfast, water and ingredients for a meal you actually plan to cook. A short city break does not need a full week’s shopping.

Sunday: sort out departure before your last outing

Confirm the apartment’s check-out time and work out your journey to the airport or station before booking a final visit. If the couples are leaving at different times, check each set of tickets and the available time separately.

Do not assume late check-out or luggage storage is included. Ask about any access or luggage needs in advance, then plan around the confirmed answer. For your last free hours, choosing one activity is usually easier than trying to fit in everything you missed.

Questions couples often need to settle

Will we share the apartment with other guests?

No. A Corner28 booking is for the whole apartment, with a maximum capacity of four guests.

Do both bedrooms have private bathrooms?

There are two bathrooms, one of which is en suite. Use the photographs to decide on the bedroom allocation; the property is not advertised as two independent suites.

How do we check the price for four guests?

Availability and the price depend on your dates and guest count. Read the booking information and review the applicable conditions before confirming.

Your next step: agree on dates, look through the layout and check availability and prices at Corner28.
